Chiasmus
Performance at Vilnius Art Fair (Lithuania) 2017.
I was lying in a black cross, made at my own measurements, six hours a day for three days.
I stood still with only hands and feet visible, and accessible to the audience.
Chiasmus, pronounced Kiasmus, is a term from the Greek that means “crossing”.

Confession
Installation at Casa Quien gallery (Santo Domingo) 2015.
Confession is an interactive installation where the public participates by sitting in a confessional in total darkness and connecting his hands to me, sitting in the opposite space.
I was given the silent confession by the energy of their hands.

Exposed
Performance, commissioned by the Museum of Modern Art (Santo Domingo), 2013.
I was lying down, motionless, inside two boxes: one holding my head and the other one containing my body. The only part which remained visible and accessible to the public was my neck, reacting to the breath of those who came too close.

The pawn
Performance, FIAC Paris 2016.
As a living sculpture, I walked and stood in every gallery booth at the fair, creating a visual dialogue with the exhibited works while wearing a knitted armor.
**All artwork in the background comes from artists featured in the galleries at the 2016 Fiac Art Fair.

Circle
Performance, Museum of Modern Art (Santo Domingo), 2013.
Part of the solo show "Emergent Conscience".
I was sitting on a swivel stool, in a knitted tower while weaving with the yarn from the bottom of the same tower. As the costume took shape, the bottom of the tower began falling apart, slowly discovering my feet, then my legs. After 3 hours of knitting, I left the tower wearing the piece, while becoming a reflection of the tower.

The enemy behind the wall
Interactive installation, part of the solo show "Emergent Conscience", Museum of Modern Art of Santo Domingo, 2013.
The enemy behind the wall consists of two identical and connected cylinder chambers. Each cabin was equipped with a monitor and a surveillance camera, simultaneously filming and projecting pictures of people in the opposite capsule in a never-ending surveillance cycle.

Untouchable
Performance (La Romana- Santo Domingo- New York), April to May 2012.
Untouchable is a performance that consisted in avoiding physical contact with human beings over a period of two months non-stop, while trying to continue living a normal life surrounded by people. This social distancing experience conducted in 2012 could not be less similar to the COVID-19 restrictions we have experienced since 2020.
To create a symbolic boarder, I had to draw a circle around me (or to place a rope when I was in private spaces) to an arms distance, in order to define what I was determined arbitrarily to be my personal space.
Every country has clear frontiers. A territory is also the personal space around us, which we claim to be ours, as though it was an extension of our body.
